Bâtonnier Bédry (a former Head of the Bar Association) has extensive experience of the business world — from aerospace and metalworking to education, training, pharmaceuticals and healthcare (including ambulance services), transport, agriculture and agri-food, as well as distribution, craftspeople and local trade, including restaurants and bars — and of the social economy (mutual insurers, associations, worker cooperatives…).
He has built up expertise in advisory work, drafting legal instruments, negotiation and litigation, with recognised experience in procedural matters. An expert in legal training, Jean-Marie Bédry — a former lecturer at the Faculty of Law — served as Director of the Toulouse Bar’s Lawyer Training Centre (École des avocats). A member of the National Bar Council from 2009 to 2014, he was Deputy Chair of the Vocational Training Committee, where he introduced highly innovative training methods and programmes.
He regularly takes part in training sessions, including those for lay judges of the Labour Court (conseillers prud’hommes). Highly engaged in his profession, Jean-Marie Bédry served as Chair of the Midi-Pyrénées branch of the UNAPL (National Union of Liberal Professions), where he put his experience to work on behalf of all liberal professions — medical, technical, legal, accounting — that he knows well.
